Frequently Asked Questions
Can’t wait for you to experience painting in lavender!
Please read for helpful tips to make your experience THE BEST!
From Michele:
Seating: We are sitting on folding chairs. If you want to bring a seat cushion or even a chair that would be more comfortable for you, please do! Realize you will be sitting facing a table, so make sure your chair will work for that.
Art Supplies: We've got you covered! All supplies needed to complete the projects will be provided, so just bring yourself.
You'll go home with three finished projects. The paints, brushes, and other materials are provided for use during class and are not included to take home, but I will be sharing tips and recommendations on getting your own supplies to keep painting afterward.
What else will be available: I’m an author with six novels out, so I will have some copies available to purchase if you’d like. (no pressure!) It’s $10 cash, total, per novel, and I’m happy to sign it for you, or to someone else if you are getting it for a gift. They are available everywhere for $12.99 on places like Amazon. (Also, eBooks, audiobooks, and free in Kindle Unlimited)
Important! Arrive 15 minutes before class start time. We have a lot to do in the two hours, so we want to start painting right on time.
Pictures! We would like to get some pictures during the class which may or may note be used on social media. (No names etc) If you do not want to be part of any pictures, please let us know.
THIS IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN! Can’t wait to see you!

Dress comfortably. Closed toe shoes are recommended. Even if it’s a warm day, not a bad idea to have a sweater or sweatshirt along.

The classes are geared to teens and up, depending on the ability of your teen to enjoy a 2-hour class. There is no childcare provided at any classes. Teens need to attend with an adult. This is a fun activity for teens who are interested and a parent.
We will be outside under an open-air tent, so dress for the outside temperature. We might get messy. Wear something you don't mind getting some paint on if you are on the wild side.
We are doing the class in the lavender field under a tent, so the ground is not level. Contact Jean if you are wondering if this would work for you.
A wonderful, relaxing time! We will have complimentary water and a lavender lemonade available to purchase. Michele will instruct you step by step how to complete the projects in a way that is understandable. Even beginners will succeed! You'll learn some basic watercolor techniques, plus she will share some secrets to make your artwork sing! Actual class time takes about 2 hours. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before class because we will start painting at the class time. By the end of the class, you'll leave with your works of art! Jean will have lavender products available for purchase, so bring your cash or credit card…you're going to love what is available. https://www.pristinelavender.com/shop Michele is also an author and will make her books available for a discounted price of $10 each/cash only. To see her Mackinac Island stories, simply google Michele Olson books or visit LakeGirlPublishing.com. She will be happy to sign your books.
Everything you need to complete the projects — brushes, paper, paints, etc., plus instruction you will enjoy. (You don't take supplies home with you, but you do take home your three masterpieces!) You'll also learn about lavender from host Jean Jarosinski.
The cancellation policy WILL be strictly enforced. Please view this just as you would if you pre-purchased a seat for a movie or concert. That seat is reserved for you. We understand sickness and other things come up. If the classes need to be cancelled due to weather: We will cancel if the weather is not conducive to being outside. This includes hard rain or extreme heat. Your ticket will be refunded, or if class openings exist, you will be alerted to upcoming classes you can join. What if you need to cancel? Your options: (1) You may transfer your ticket to someone else. Email jean@pristinelavender.com to notify who you are transferring it to. (2) Notify us by email at least 48 hours prior to the event that you cannot attend, and you will be allowed to transfer the ticket. We will strictly enforce the 48-hour rule. This is not an option for less than 48 hours' notice. Late or no notification will result in forfeiting your ticket. Why? With the limited number of openings and classes, we want to fill the seats. You are booking a seat for an event, and we are saving that seat for you!
Yes, you do since there's a limited amount of seating. Also, we need to have 5 painters to hold the class. If you decide to come at the last minute, just give us a call and we'll do our best to get you in the class.
